In no particular order, my favorite animals:
Squirrels - After yesterday's post, this should come as no surprise to anyone, right? These fluffy-tailed little bastards are totally my Patronus, my spirit animal, whatever you want to call it. They hop around like bunnies, they chitter when they're peeved, they eat hilariously unexpected things like pizza, pocky, and Doritos, and they hold their food in those stupid cute little paw-hands of theirs while they nom on it.
I am totes not a furry/otherkin in any sense of the word. But if I was, I'd be a goddamn squirrel. Just saying.
My favorite cute squirrel pictures can be found in this post right here, in which a dude found a baby squirrel in his bag of garden mulch, MIRACULOUSLY still alive, nursed it back to health and raised it as a pet. Baby squirrels AND humans who aren't douchebags? On one page? Winning.
Hamsters - Sensing a theme here? I like rodents. Rodents are cute. I've had a soft spot for hammies since childhood, during which my family kept a series of them as pets. Syrian hamsters are cute as fuck. Longhaired Syrians look like Tribbles with little legs. Shorthaired Syrians are just fat and fuzzy. Everything they do is adorable. They sleep curled up in perfect little spheres, they stuff ridonkulous amounts of food in their cheek pouches, they wiggle their butts when they run. Were it not for the fact that I now share a household with the Terrible Trio (more on them in a minute), one of whom is a shameless rodent murderer, I'd get another ham in a heartbeat. Alas, I am reduced to squeeing over hams on the internet instead.
For your viewing pleasure, here is a Tumblr consisting entirely of pictures of hamsters in cups.
And of course, CATS - Really, how many people on the internet at large are there who legitimately don't like cats? Cats are the mascots of the internet. They cuddle. They purr. They go full derp and run around like teeny wildebeests. They have the supernatural ability to make themselves fit into any spot of their choosing. They're endlessly entertaining and legitimately therapeutic.
Here is a Tumblr consisting entirely of cats being in places where cats ought not be. But I would also be remiss if I made a post about cats without posting pictures of my actual cats.
The Terrible Trio!
